How To Get Ready To See Santa Claus

The holiday season is near. In just a few weeks Santa will be here to visit your children. Preparing to see Santa can be easy in three (3) easy steps. Let’s review how to prepare for this meeting with Santa Claus.

How to Approach Santa

Meeting Santa can be an anxious moment or either a joyful one.  Some children are afraid of Santa and this is okay. They’ve never met him in person and have only heard of him from stories of their parents or guardians. If your child has a joyful experience, this is great… but what would you do if your child is afraid? What do you do then?

Ease your child into meeting him. You’ll never want to force your child to sit or go near Santa if they’re uncomfortable or shy. It helps to show your child how friendly Santa is, by demonstrating how you’re not afraid to sit with Santa. Explaining to them that Santa loves to bring children presents on Christmas helps to ease the tension.

During my Santa Mini Sessions, I bring treats for the children to have. This is a helpful medium that coaxes the children into seeing that Santa Claus is friendly and is here to help bring their wishes true!

Your Letter to Santa

Who doesn’t love letters?! This is completely optional, but it aids in creating a more seamless holiday season. This not only helps the parents, but it also helps with the meeting with Santa Claus. Children will be able to effectively communicate what they’d like for Christmas, allowing the anticipation of meeting Santa to be more exciting.

Speak to them about their wishes and the things they’d like for Santa to bring them this holiday season. This is a great bonding time for you and your child and helps build your relationship. You’re learning what your child is interested in, and at the same time you’re helping your child see social experiences aren’t as bad as they may seem.

To make this process easier, download our letter to Santa Claus sheet. You can fill this out and bring it to your session with Santa!

Questions For Santa

Children are very curious learners. There might be various questions that they have for you regarding Santa Claus. Here are a few suggestions or questions that children are likely to ask:

  1. How old is Santa Claus?

  2. How does Santa Claus travel?

  3. Are elves Santa’s kids?

  4. Where does Santa Claus live?

  5. How many reindeer does Santa Claus have?

Where Can I Find Santa?

Our Santa Mini sessions are located in Birmingham, Alabama. (Precious Studio | 313 20th St N, Birmingham, AL 35203).

Black Santa is back! Representation is important. Because of this, I’ve created a Santa Mini session so that our community can have photos to look back on. As a generation, we’re always on social media that we forget to take photos that we can print and share with loved ones. I’m hoping that with my mini sessions, not only do you have photos to send, but you also have memories to keep forever. I remember my time with Santa, and I hope this is an opportunity where you and your children can too!

We have three dates available at various times. Be sure to book before the slots are filled!

That’s all folks! That’s a quick list of how to get ready for your photo session with Santa Claus! Let me know if this information was helpful and feel free to visit our Santa Mini Sessions page for more info.
